General Counsel

Senné is seeking a General Counsel, to be based at the Company’s Headquarters in Boston, MA. The General Counsel at Senné will be responsible for all legal matters pertaining to all real estate business lines at the firm. The General Counsel will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices and process improvements. The General Counsel will manage all aspects of the legal vertical, including corporate governance, risk management, regulatory and compliance, and all other general company matters. The General Counsel will advise and represent The Senné Company Inc, liaising with and answering directly to the President and CEO. 


  • Provide leadership and guidance on a broad range of legal matters affecting both day-to-day and long-term business operations.
  • Manages corporate governance, acquisition, legal department function, outside counsel, supervises all other legal personnel and assists with the guidance and direction of legal projects within the organization
  • Help set strategy and guide company movements including advice on strategic planning.
  • Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures designed to create process discipline and mitigate risk, in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Formulate, implement and administer policies and procedures of the Legal Department in consultation with Chief Executive Officer.
  • Support Human Resources in training initiatives to implement legal compliance guidelines.
  • Collaborating with the company’s executives to help draft and continually improve a broad range of complex sales and procurement agreements.
  • Manage all corporate licensing matters that pertain to the company.
  • Ensure that all legal consequences are evaluated and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prosecute litigation on behalf of the corporation. 
  • Represent and/or prepare the defense(s), when necessary or advisable, on legal documentation.
  • Review and negotiate property lease and or sale agreements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security standards and policies for the organization.


Desired Skills & Experience

  • Juris Doctor Degree from accredited university/college and successful completion of State Bar.
  • 7+ years of extensive broad, general legal experience.
  • Ability to understand and analyze real estate transactions, preferred. 
  • Familiarity with local zoning and building codes, particularly in Cambridge, Somerville and Boston.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to understand diverse aspects of a business model and simultaneously deal with governmental, client and competitor issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels within the organization.
