Q&A with Belle Smith

Belle Smith (@belleesmith) is our Boston College student-athlete partner. Since joining the team in 2022 she has made an immediate impact as well as gaining her own accolades at the same time such as ACC rookie of the year, 2-time all-ACC first team, and setting BC records for points and goals as a rookie.

Q: What is one important lesson you’ve learned from your time as an athlete?
A: Being an athlete has taught me a lot. I’ve learned to be able to adapt to different environments and people. I also have become a very driven person in all circumstances because of my athletics.

Q: What are some of your favorite things to do in the New England area?
A: I love to go to professional sporting events in the New England area. Boston is the city of champions. The city values its sports and there is so much comradery behind them.

Q: If you had a friend visiting Boston, what would be a mandatory “must visit” on your list?
A: If my friend was visiting Boston I would have a whole list of things for them to do… too much to count! We’d definitely go to a sporting event. I’d then make a reservation on Newbury Street for some shopping. I’d then take them to Cityside for dinner because that’s our home base at BC!

Q: What’s one thing you miss about home?
A: One thing I miss about home is the small town feel. In Boston, there’s always something going on and it’s a pretty packed place – which I love! But it is definitely nice to come home to a small beach town that’s pretty empty in the winter and slow down my pace a little bit.

Q: What do you think are the biggest challenges that students looking for apartments in the Boston rental market are facing today?
A: I think a big challenge students face is finding a place to start. Instead of getting in touch with a real-estate company and realtor that wants what’s best for you, I think a lot of students go to whoever is most convenient for them… but why not do both!
