Davis Square was voted one of the 15 “Hippest Places To Live In America” and the neighborhood lives up to its reputation. This vibrant area is chockful of culture, with a range of entertainment choices for art and film lovers. Davis Square is home to the historic Somerville Theatre, which started out as a vaudeville house and movie theater over 100 years ago. The theater is now a popular option for seeing movies and live music and hosts the yearly Independent Film Festival of Boston. This small square also packs a big punch when it comes to dining options, serving up an eclectic array of cafes and restaurants, including sushi, barbecue, Thai street noodles, and an oatmeal cafe. 

The Somerville Community Path, a tree-lined paved path, connects Davis Square to Alewife’s Linear Park and is part of the 11-mile Minuteman Bike Trail. The leafy recreation corridor is an ideal option for cycling, running, walking, or skating. Davis Square also offers proximity to Cambridge’s Russell Field, a park with a football gridiron and field house, baseball diamonds, water fountains, and a loop cycling path.
